Get involved
In 2021 the Royal British Legion celebrated the role of women in wartime, and a number of community events took place in the week 6-14 November to celebrate the role of Maryport Women in War, including exhibitions at St Mary’s Church and The Settlement at Castle Hill.
The local community helped with the following:

Contributing their family stories, photos, documents

Making poppies for a display at the Memorial Gardens

Researching and testing war-time recipes using ingredients available during rationing
